Rollinia Strain: Maryland Cannabis Reviews

Ideal for Bowls and Rolls:

Grinding Rollinia before use will enhance your experience. To be honest, you won’t have a choice; the eighth of Rollinia I had was one of the stickiest I’ve ever come across in Maryland. However, the growers could have been a bit more patient. To be fair, the day I bought and sampled it was very humid, which could have contributed to its stickiness.

APPEARANCE

I was pleasantly surprised by the trim and cure of Rollinia. It has a somewhat wild and unkempt beauty. Some guard leaves are scattered, partially concealing smaller densely packed buds. The buds sprout out over a tightly wound cluster of rusty red pistils or “hairs.” Inside the bud, there are darker purple flecks that almost appear black against the bright green backdrop.

Interestingly, the photo above bears a striking resemblance to the sub-tropical fruiting flower for which the strain is named, Rollinia

From Wikipedia:
Annona mucosa is a species of flowering plant in the custard-apple family, Annonaceae, that is native to tropical South America. It is cultivated for its edible fruits, commonly known as biribá, lemon meringue pie fruit, or wild sugar-apple, throughout the world’s tropics and subtropics.
The Brazilian name, biribá has become somewhat well known. Nonetheless, the fruits are occasionally known by other names, including wild sugar apple and aratiku.

It is possible that the strain name came from this visual likeness, but it may just be a coincidence. Many of the buds had lighter-colored foliage in the center with darker purplish spots.
